2,000 gambling outlets closed in Moscow since January 1
?Over this year 1,954 gambling outlets, which make up 70.5 percent of their total number, have been closed in compliance with the Moscow City law on gambling business,? he said. ?At present, 787 gambling outlets are operating in the capital, 241 of them should cease their activities by the end of the year,? he said, pointing out that only 546 gambling outlets will remain in the capital. Ordzhonikidze said in January-September tax receipts from gambling businesses to the city budget increased to 4.5 billion roubles. Moreover, almost all slot machines from Moscow?s streets and shops were removed eliminating by this the capital?s shadow gambling business. Itar Tass
